Yesterday, I visited Blacktown Building Supplies for my home projects, I prefer to support local businesses over multi-national companies, at first, I received mediocre assistance, with one sales representative only showing me a very limited range of stock. I was taking photos of the limited range of timbers I was shown when Paul approached me and asked me if I needed assistance, I quickly showed him a photo of my range hood cover I am planning to build as I was looking for decorative timber trims, and he then offered his assistance and completely changed my experience. He was attentive, knowledgeable, and showed me a large range of decorative timber options which were housed in a different section. He took the time to explain the differences, answered my questions, and ensured I felt confident in my choices. Paul, you are definitely number one — thank you! Its people like you who truly help local businesses grow. Your outstanding customer service made a real difference, and you are a credit to the team. Paul’s customer service was outstanding and made a real difference to my visit and I hope his efforts are recognised. Thank you, Paul [No 1].

Edit 22/12/25 I originally left a fair and neutral 3‑star review after two separate visits where the service at the trade counter was rude. The owner publicly questioned whether I had even been a customer and asked for proof, suggesting I might just be a troll. I provided purchase receipts as requested. After that, there was no attempt to ask what happened, no investigation, and no interest in understanding the issue I raised. The only response I received was a message focused solely on identifying me from their CCTV—very invasive—and instructing me not to return and that I would not be served, without addressing the complaint in any way. At no point was there an apology, explanation, or any indication that customer feedback was taken seriously. There was literally zero investigation into how I was treated, whether I could complete my job properly, or whether the material I needed was eventually supplied. This is a complete breakdown of professionalism and basic customer service at the ownership level. Prospective customers can judge for themselves the culture of this business based on this interaction. That said, I’m sorry to say this is not a reflection on the other staff, many of whom do a great job but are being let down by management and a few team members.

These guys where great. Forgot to order Friday and place an order late Sunday night. Plywood was delivered to site mid morning on Monday. Delivery driver hand unloaded and stacked the sheets for me as I was not onsite. Great to see good old fashion service. Will recommend and use them again. Thanks Chris ifloor Sydney
