Needed some long overdue plants and greenery for my apartment. I have driven past Garden Life a squillion times as I was always attracted to the cactuses and thought I must stop in there some day. Finally did and Rose helped me and the experience was great. Rose knows just about everything about plants indoor or outdoor which was very helpful as I didn’t know much about plants except that I like to look at them. It made my day and now I am happy with lots of greenery and new pots throughout my apartment. Recommend stopping by Garden Life if you need some green in your life and ask for Rose! And yes I did buy a Cactus 🌵

Thank you Richard and Alex for last weekend’s Spring workshop - Natural Planting and Styling for Success. Having moved into a ’60s house with all the usual suspects — Camellias, Gardenias, Strelitzias and tons of Agapanthuses, I wanted to transform the front cottage garden into a more modern Australian naturalistic planting which, on top being watersave and having that elegant gray-green colour scheme that we’re after, are attractive to local native birds! I thought I could learn more about spacing and restraint, and the workshop did not disappoint. I’ve heard that repetitions matter, but a garden is to be experienced, not just read in a book. Seeing how nice it is to have the same species in different forms (trees vs the prostrate form), not just the similar colours in different plants or textures, for example. The best tip on spacing? Make the tips “just kiss”. Duly noted. On that note, I’m fully team foliage over flowers. Tolerating Grevilleas for their bird-attracting powers. The displays work from the rest of the team is a masterclass in itself. Very architectural. Just look at that cloud-pruned tree with that round pot... and that mysterious not-grass-tree beside it. Generous, yet uncluttered. Just how I'd like my garden-in-progress to end up looking like. Awesome work!

We had a styling consult with Alex and he was so helpful in providing guidance and suggestions for our space. We loved his enthusiasm and garden styling ideas. I would absolutely recommend this service if you are needing advice on a small garden area. This is one of the best nurseries in Sydney - the staff are so knowledgeable, the nursery is beautifully curated and the quality of plants is a whole other level. Forget Bunnings. Another shout out to Ebo for helping us with questions on our Euphorbia!
