Cook & Archies — Lawn Mowing in Surry Hills, NSW

Atmosphere is great, there’s a few things that bring the experience down for me. Firstly the price, it is extremely high, I saw the breakfast barrito for $20 so I ordered that, when it come out, all it had was eggs and bacon in it, I then realised if I wanted what would be considered a regular Brekkie barrito, I would of had to pay $30 all up in extras. Secondly, the coffee mugs are unbelievably small. Third, the staff also do not bring those extra things to your table such as, water jug, salt and pepper etc. however it is a really nice atmosphere I will say that.

What a hidden gem! The food is absolutely delicious, and the staff is so kind and thoughtful: she even remembered my (very specific) tea order. Very happy to have discovered this spot so close to home. If, like me, you’re not into queuing for hours at trendy places that end up disappointing, this is the place for you!

We went there twice for breakfast/brunch and it was great both times. Attentive and friendly service, reasonably priced, great food and drinks - especially the juices (no added junk/sweeteners).

I have wanted to try this venue for some time, but each time I have been in this part of Surry Hills it has been too busy. I was lucky enough to find it relatively quiet on a recent Friday morning, so I thought I should give it a try. I only waited near the front door for a moment before a cheerful staff member spotted me, and quickly showed me to a vacant table. Moments later a glass of water was provided, as well as the menus. I ordered a small flat-white coffee, and a dish called Turkish Eggs from the specials menu. While waiting for my meal, I looked around at the interior. The warm colour palette of the furniture, the subdued colours of the walls, and the ambient music provided a chill, relaxed vibe. Several other patrons quietly chatting added to this pleasant effect. There wasn't long to enjoy the vibe before the meal arrived. The coffee was hot, agreeably strong, with a smooth texture. The Turkish Eggs was well presented, the eggs appeared to be perfectly poached. The whole dish was delicious, with some subtle flavours and fresh ingredients. I'm glad I finally tried Cook & Archie's, recommended.

Haven't been for a while and jumped at the opportunity to get back here for a social catch-up and Brunch. The food is at its exceptional Best. The cheesecake was just the right balance and served warm. The hotcakes didn't last long on the plate and were a great texture and balance in flavours/ the Fritters were equally devoured quickly. The service was good, attentive with only one person who looked like she didn't want to engage or be there on a Sunday. We still enjoyed our visit.
