BIG W Chermside — Irrigation in Chermside, QLD

I just wanted to give a big thankyou to the lovely lady at the registers yesterday 27th Jan….i put the items through then realised I’d left my card at home….she held the items till I found my daughter then put them through for me….it was getting busy but she was kind and helpful! Thanks so much! I was stressing more than her I think, but she was just lovely ☺️

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I had a great experience at the party balloons section at Big W. The staff member TIA was super friendly, patient, and gave me really clear and helpful instructions on how to handle the balloons properly. She made the whole process easy and stress-free. Excellent customer service — thank you!

Mario on Customer Service was very professional and helpful. Even though it was ten minutes before closing, he went over and above to call another store and support me getting a refund. I was also impressed with how the staff speak with each other. Despite a hugely hectic festive season, there was obviously a good team culture.

One of the many anchor stores in Chermside Central where you'll find value across the entire store every day. It's never too busy with plenty of space to make your shopping experience more enjoyable. The range of items stocked is huge at affordable prices. Like most department stores there are not a lot of staff available at times to assist, should you need someone. I generally find the staff friendly and helpful and enjoy my shopping at Big W.

The best part of this particular Big W is their party shop. It’s a fun party resource to have and there are plenty of options available. See photos. This Big W store has a large footprint and it’s easy to just get lost in the vastness of it all. It doesn’t feel like it holds more stock, it just feels more spread out. Staff are usually quite helpful but they can be hard to find if they are not part of the checkout, customer service or technology service counters. The phone assistance is always great. I think one of Big W’s general challenges is that they lack a point of difference that makes them unique or specifically worth travelling to. Sure we go buy ‘stuff’ there but there is not much that we buy there that is not available elsewhere. The prices seem to be lowering which is great but it’s still a brand that has very little sparkle. If they were generally 20% cheaper than anywhere else we would definitely shop there more. Wouldn’t you? That being said - their shop hours are super handy and that is much appreciated! Note the party shop has more independent hours from the store and closes earlier.
