Beautiful park, right near the Brisbane River.athere is lots of gas bar-b's and tables and chairs. We caught the City Cat from there to Eat Street

After exploring the artsy Brisbane Powerhouse, heading over to the adjacent New Farm Park and just lying on the grass is the absolute best way to unwind in Brisbane! Incredibly Relaxing Riverside Lawns: The environment here is just so comfortable. As the photo shows, the massive, leafy trees provide excellent shade right next to the beautiful Brisbane River. Finding a spot on the lush grass to lie down and feel the gentle river breeze is wonderfully relaxing. Authentic Local Vibe: This park perfectly showcases the laid-back Aussie way of life. Everywhere you look, people are sitting on the grass chatting, having picnics, and playing games together. There are even public BBQ facilities available. The cheerful yet entirely relaxed social atmosphere is highly infectious. Planespotting Under the Blue Sky: While lying back and staring at the sky, I noticed planes flying overhead quite frequently. Watching them slowly cross the clear blue sky, paired with the lazy afternoon vibe, was surprisingly peaceful and therapeutic. It's a great moment to capture on a short video! If you are looking for a place to do absolutely nothing but zone out and soak in Brisbane's beautiful, slow pace, this park is an absolute paradise. ~~~~~~ I have always held Brisbane in high regard as a beautiful, progressive, and welcoming city. However, I experienced a very disappointing and shocking incident this afternoon. Between 2:10 PM and 2:40 PM today (Sunday, Feb 22, 2026), I was walking along Oxlade Dr (just after passing the Sydney St intersection) when someone from a passing car threw a water balloon at me, directly hitting my left ankle. By the time I processed what had happened, the vehicle had already sped away. While I am thankfully not seriously injured, this kind of anti-social behavior is dangerous and incredibly frustrating. I am sharing this to give a heads-up to locals and fellow visitors walking in the New Farm area. I sincerely hope this remains an isolated incident in an otherwise wonderful city.

Beautiful park to walk around. Stunning views and the coffee shop there made me one of the best coffees I have had in a while

One of the best small parks. Colourful rose garden during the season. We visited in September and October period. Can hop in to a ferry and head up to Brisbane City from here.

A fantastic open space on the edge of the Brisbane CBD. Plenty of things for individuals, couples and families to do. It's well worth a visit just to walk along the river or to sit beneath the cool Jacarandas and watch the world go by. There's always something to entertain you in the park or on the river front.
