Julian built a retaining wall at my home and the job has been left unfinished and with several defective elements. He has also stopped responding to multiple attempts to contact him. The timeline has been very disappointing: • The job was booked for mid November and Julian told me it would take around three days. • The day before he was due to start, he told me he could not attend and it would be “sometime the next week.” • When he and his team arrived later, I pointed out that the steel posts he brought were too short for the engineering design. • The following day, no one attended and there was no communication. • Throughout the job there were repeated occasions where Julian said he would attend or complete tasks and then did not turn up and did not let me know. • More than a month after starting a three day job, several items remain unfinished, and parts of the wall appear defective. • Julian has now stopped responding to my messages about completing the remaining work. Issues with the wall: • Soil from excavation has been left covering plants and the lower retaining wall • A gap in the geotextile at the drain outlet is already allowing gravel to fall out • The drainage pipe has been left loosely across the lower wall with no finished arrangement • Excavation debris (logs and a large rock) was left onsite • On the higher section of the wall, the bottom sleeper has a clear gap underneath and is not supported along its base, meaning the only thing preventing gravel and retained material escaping is geotextile This has been my experience and I hope it helps others make an informed decision.

We recently hired Julian from West Brisbane Structural Landscaping to revamp our backyard, and the results were even better than we hoped for. From the very first visit, Julian was friendly, easy to communicate with, and clearly knew what he was doing. He took the time to understand what we wanted, gave great suggestions, and delivered a landscaping design that worked perfectly for our sloped block. Julian and his crew did an amazing job putting up our 45m, sloping ground, Colorbond fence and removing the old timber one. All done in two days, with no hassles and leaving the site perfectly clean. Their price was very reasonable and Julian communicated often to make sure we got what we wanted. We would definitely recommend them!
