Lush garden with plenty of flowers, herbs and fruit. Lovely for a stroll or a rest on one of the thoughtfully-provided streets. Street parking available; right next to a CityCycle station. Most advanced community garden I have seen. Convenient tap in the middle of the grounds - perfect for rinsing kitchen caddy after depositing food scraps into one of the many composting bins.

Went here for a stungless bee hive splitting workshop and met lovely people in a fabulously transformed space. Ten years before I remember when it was just starting with community composting. Now it is a garden of eden in the heart of the city, productive and conducive to the West end spirit. Buzzing with pollinators of all kinds and well laid out inviting spaces.

Not only a beautiful and welcoming space, the Jane Street garden is a place for learning and community gatherings. It is very well organised with a vast array of members and opportunities to get involved. You can volunteer in a working bee, assist with planning or simply bring your food scraps. As the west end becomes more and more developed, spaces like these will become more valuable to maintaining the west end character.

My favourite place in West End. There is a huge diversity of edible and medicinal plants including herbs, trees, fruit and vegetables. A great place to get your hands dirty and learn the principles of permaculture and organic farming in practice.
