Austral Tree Services were recommended to us by our landscaper who I know only deals with the best. We needed their arborist advice and help with a number of issues from diagnosing why some of our advanced conifer hedge was dying to assessing the safety and trimming of a huge river red gum overhanging our property. I’ve dealt with a number of their staff both in the field and in their head office and they have all been incredibly friendly and helpful. After trees were removed the area was left very clean and tidy. I would highly recommend Austral Tree Services

Another great job by Austral! This was the smallest tree they've removed for me in the last few years, but it required skill to avoid fouling our power and telecom cables. The climber carefully sectioned the tree as he descended, lowering the branches and trunk on a rope so that a crew member could swing them onto a path, to avoid damaging the surrounding garden plants. The cleanup was also efficient and effective. Overall, excellent service!

Avoid! Absolute Amateurs! They obviously have no idea whatsoever, a picture tells a thousand words. After more than two years, - see last three pictures, - this once strong, healthy, and professionally well maintained (by local, educated arborists with common sense) hedge still shows no signs of recovery and never will, after Austral Tree Services recklessly hacked it back with complete disregard, and showing an inexcusable lack of knowledge and/or research of the long term consequences. These fools, while working for the DIT (department of infrastructure and transport - another inept 'organization') like true novices, completely destroyed our Cypress Hedge which had been growing for over one hundred years (and yet, the previous contractors used by the DIT in the years beforehand had realized that these trees were being well maintained, and indeed what trees they were, so therefore saw fit to bypass them). We annually paid for local professionals to trim this hedge for the 12 years we have lived here - see first two photos - all for nothing! When quizzed later in the day, while they were haphazardly hacking back vegetation further down the road, about whether or not they had realized what they had done, one of the novices said "Oh, was that your hedge?" while another novice piped up "It'll grow back won't it?" Well no! Any arborist who knows anything about trees would realize you don't cut a Cypress tree back to the dead wood, otherwise it won't ever grow back! - see photos They even had the audacity to think they could leave what was once a living, green hedge as knee high wood chips at the base of the now baron trees. Unbelievable! Now, over 2 years since these amateurs came past, the long term damage is obvious. (see the last three photos added). To think, this hedge stood for decades as an impressive landmark of the area until 'Austral Tree Services' came along and 'did their stuff'. Even one of the younger guys questioned whether or not they should cut into this row of Cypress trees, only for one of the more 'senior' (and obviously even more clueless) workers to dismiss his legitimate concerns and suggest they go ahead. There is even a fully grown tree standing next to it, further forward towards the roadside than the hedge ever was - see additional picture. Why find it necessary to cut into this hedge at all, let alone, cut it right back to expose the dead wood I'll never know. Mindboggling stuff! Steer clear of these negligent amateurs at all costs is my advice, they obviously have no idea!! As someone once said - 'never underestimate the predictability of stupidity". - the first two pictures are of paid local professionals at work, the next two are after Austral Tree Services had initially performed their reckless 'maintenance', while the last three are of the same hedge, after more than two years later, baron and beyond any hope of recovery.

Austral Tree Services has removed a massive gum tree in our backyard. It was in a challenging position above a veranda and a pool. They have used a crane to remove it. They have done a fantastic job at a reasonable price. Contact with them has been very pleasant from start to finish. Highly recommended!

Cannot believe the amazing job Craig, Josh and their team did on our enormously challenging job this week. A massive gum that had half fallen and gotten stuck in our other gum. Craig hired a huge Crane and negotiated a very tight driveway to pluck the tree out in pieces, with great skill and effort - leaving our garden and infrastructure in tact. Even used the crane to winch in the stump muncher! Thank you so much to all involved for your professionalism, effort and skill. Highly recommend!!
