I ordered the pork ribs, and what arrived looked like the final remains of a small house fire, cleverly disguised under a layer of sauce. Not “smoky.” Not “charred.” Charcoal. Archaeological charcoal. Every bite tasted like I’d licked the inside of a burnt Weber that had been lightly glazed for presentation. After one mouthful of disappointment and carbon, I sent them back and explained the issue. A few minutes later, the same ribs returned, yes, the same ribs, with a message from the chef: “Just eat some from the middle.” Because obviously the centre of a burnt offering is where the flavour hides. Bold strategy. Sadly, the middle also tasted like the end of civilisation. Dry. Crispy. Ashy. Like chewing on the remains of a forest fire. I tried to push through, but there’s only so much charcoal a human can responsibly consume in one sitting. Eventually I gave up and left most of it on the table like a warning to others. When the waitress came to clear it, I explained my disappointment. She apologised, took the plate away… and that was it. No refund. No replacement. No offer to fix it. Just a quiet, respectful acceptance that this transaction had spiritually ended. So if you’re into ribs that taste like they’ve been cooked directly over the gates of hell and then artistically concealed with sauce and emotional denial, this is your place. If you prefer food that resembles food, I’d recommend literally anywhere else. 1 star, for the confidence to send burnt food back out and call it a solution.

Packed to the rafters with english charm, Fox and Firkin is a standout for traditional pub fare with authentic English trimmings. Great selection of beers (best Guinness in Adelaide, highly recommend the scotch and hobgoblin English ales). The pork sausages are excellent and you absolutely must try the curry sauce

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A true British pub experience right here in SA 🇬🇧🍻 Stopped by the Fox & Firkin and absolutely loved it! 🍽️✨ The warm stone walls, timber beams, and lively chatter made it feel like a trip straight to the UK 🇬🇧❤️ Tried the Guinness pie 🥧 and fish & chips 🐟🍟 — both were spot on! Crispy, rich, and full of flavour. Washed it all down with a perfectly poured pint of Guinness 🍺 — pure comfort on a cool afternoon 🌤️ Friendly staff, hearty food, and cozy vibes — what more could you ask for? ☕🔥 Will definitely be back again soon 🙌💯

British born here 👋🏼 I've visited once and I can assure you, I'll be returning. First impression is it's symbolic of a home away from home. The environment inside and outside (minus the temperature) feels like an old English style pub that feels incredibly familiar to any Brits missing that home feel. The rustic brick outside to the interior aesthetic of football filled enthusiasm plastered over the yeh walls and ceiling. Now, onto the food. The serving sizes are intense. You really get what you pay for, which equaints to the 'Eyed bigger than your belly'. I was hesitant to steer away from fish and chips but figured I may as well try a British staple. Cottage Pie. I can't say I've ever eaten a cottage pie at a restaurant/pub let alone seen one on the menu ever, but it tasted incredibly authentic to what you'd expect from a little cottage on a farmers land in the countryside of England. Incredible presentation and taste. I can't express into words how unbelievable the food was. If you're British, Australian or just feel a craving hunger for something different, honestly, go here. From the aesthetic, to the food to the staff, it's all a 5* experience.

Great vibes and great people. I absolutely loved the place, and so did my partner and kids. Fantastic schnitty and the rest rounded off a beautiful day for us. And special mention to the incredibly talented artist who sang some of the most, absolutely fav tracks of ours, she's definitely going places in the near future.
