Loved this place. It has exotic plants much like what I am used to in the cloud dome in Singapore. Only difference is that these plants are well suited in Melbourne’s climate so there is no need to create a whole artificial dome for climate control. No wonder they had a sign on the importance of selecting plants that befits local conditions. :) It does resonate with me as it reminds me of Bruce Lee’s quote - to be like water….

Part of the Royal Botanic Gardens Victoria, the Guilfoyle's Volcano is a beautiful area covered in mostly cacti. On top of the "volcano" there is a pond with all kinds of birds. Walking paths are very well maintained and offer access to the top even for wheelchairs. Not very busy so it's easy to take some nice pictures without people around. The area is not that big so be sure you don't miss it when visiting the Gardens.

Fantastic place to visit if you like gardens and cacti/succulents. Weekends are very busy so get there early. Lovely formal succulent garden nearby. NOTE: This was never a real volcano despite what you may have heard😜
