Walyalup Koort — Turf Installation in Fremantle, WA

Walyalup Koort is Fremantle's new central meeting point. An attracting vibrant hub that connects dining, entertainment, essential tourist services, and historic architecture. ​I will head to the Fremantle Visitor Centre first. Pick up a map, grab a coffee at FOMO, and then explore other key Fremantle sights like the Fremantle Markets, the Fishing Boat Harbour, and the WA Shipwrecks Museum, all within an easy walk.

Great place to hang put, even in the night time. Good place for sight seeing as well.

We love coming up here. Especially at christmas time when they have the Christmas Light display on.

Won loads of prestigious architecture awards recently and it is easy to see why. The square revitalises what was formerly a worn-out and dated urban space. The contemporary structure contrasts well with the surrounding historical buildings, and provides lots of great built forms for the building's tenants and main stakeholders. The exterior is pretty cool too, especially the green grass hill that is probably the centrepiece of the development. Great place to sit back, relax and reflect on life's many graces.

A recent upgrade has beautified this park. Added a new modern children's playground. Walyalup Koort is formerly King Square. According to the internet, Walyalup is the Nyoongar name for an area that includes Fremantle and Koort means heart. Another place for a visit. Cheers! (2022-03)
