Had quite a bit of work for them. The entire process took around 4 business days (day 1 they cut down and carted away all the trees and debris and poisoned the stumps, came back 3 days later and ground them away) and I am happy with the result. They even cut up a massive trunk we wanted to keep into manageable sections. They aren't the cheapest but you do get what you pay for and I am glad I spent the money. To be frank, I’m not entirely sure how we are the first negative review on google. I’m going to start with the positives (the reason it’s a 2 star review): - it was a very large tree and in a tight area, so acknowledge it was a big job - the arborists who came did a good job at getting the tree down, in fairly tricky circumstances, with pretty minimal damage. Now, the negatives: - it took 3 weeks to get it down, having to constantly follow up when they were going to be coming back and finish it. There was very minimal communication about this when the job was started, so it was always a bit disappointing to come home each time to see that it wasn’t completed (took about 5 visits) - we paid to have the stump ground out and they initially left a large protruding and sharp piece of wood still sticking out, but issued an invoice for completed works. We had to get them back out again to actually finish the job (see complaint number 1) - the worst part was how they left the yard (see photo of before and after). When we asked when they were going to come and take away the enormous pile of woodchips/saw dust (noting the quote said “dismantle to ground level, removal of waste, stump grinding and backfilling the hole”), we got a smart answer that taking away the stump grinding waste wasn’t included in the quote (massive eye roll to this). To which we say: 1. it’s a pretty obvious expectation that the area would be left neat and tidy; 2. we paid for removal of the tree down to grown level AND removal of waste. You can not logically say that the enormous pile left on our now dead lawn was produced from stump grinding 30cm of tree out (probably the answer is that they didn’t chop the trunk down short enough before stump grinding). Note the photo taken had already had some taken away, it was even bigger; 3. There was no option to pay extra for removal of stump grinding waste, so it’s pretty logical that it should have been removed (or just sufficient to backfill) and this was an abnormal result. - To top it all off, we were threatened with “legal proceedings” (fairly funny threat to make to a lawyer) for not paying the invoice the same day it was issued (when in fact, they hadn’t finished at that time the invoice was issued - note still protruding tree stump) and the unreasonable payment term which was never specified prior to that date, and we can’t control how long banks take to release money, again eye roll. I think he received payment 5 days after completion, very sorry for the inconvenience. Just go into this with eyes wide open, and be prepared to pay $6000 and still have the pleasure of half the tree remaining in the form of wood chips on your now dead lawn. And, before you say there is no record of a job for me, a common response to negative reviews, you were dealing with my husband.

Wow! Professional service from end to end. Gary was amazing and helping me decide how to trim my huge gumtree. I love my tree, so wanted to hire a team that have a passion for the integrity and beauty of nature and I found just that with trees need surgeons! The team that came were so awesome, full of smiles and treated me, the tree and our surroundings with so much care! They even took away old trimmings from 2 other small trees that were here too, and that was not part of the job! My yard was definitely cleaner after they left. Thank you so much Gary and your amazing team! So great to see a team with such a diversity of people, and talent! I’m so grateful!!

The guys from Trees need Surgeons are truly the specialists. Richard came out to do a couple of site inspections at no charge, have me advice on some challenges I had and scheduled the work promptly. Everything was documented thoroughly and the team did a magnificent job of trimming my giant jacaranda, removing two palms and lopping about 5 other various trees on the property. They also took everything away and tidied up the yard so it looked better than before... all for a very reasonable price. I would recommend them to anyone. Excellent service.
