Really nice area to walk, run or ride your mountain bikes. Did the outer track which ended up being around 9km round trip. On leash dog area with dog water bowl at the entrance to the park attached to the side of the toilet facilities. Plenty of wildlife throughout the park and some cool old ruins in the middle of the park.

We came to do a hike here. We took the Pink Gum trail. It's fairly hilly, but we were rewarded with beautiful views from the hills.

The Yellowtail Loop is such a beautiful and relaxing walk! The trail is well-marked and easy to follow, perfect for anyone who enjoys the outdoors without needing a tough hike. There’s plenty to see along the way — from wildflowers and native birds to the occasional kangaroo. The mix of open views and shaded bushland makes it great for photography too. It’s peaceful, clean, and not too crowded, which makes it ideal for a weekend nature escape. Highly recommend if you love hiking, nature, or just want a refreshing walk close to the city!

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Anstey Hill Recreation Park Anstey Hill is an absolute gem so close to the city and we were really impressed. There are plenty of car parking options and even temporary toilets available in the main car park which is a great touch. We tackled the 5km parkrun loop which includes the infamous Torture Hill… and wow, the name does not lie. I cannot imagine running up that beast, it is brutal. One of the highlights was exploring the Newmans Nursery ruins. They were way bigger than expected with heaps of historical photos and information that really brought the past to life. Wildlife was everywhere. We spotted several kangaroos and even a few koalas along the walk which made it extra special. The area is also popular with cyclists, especially around lunchtime when we noticed more bikes than walkers. The wider paths were spacious and easy to share but the narrower trails looked better suited for earlier in the day when it is quieter. It is dog friendly too as long as your furry friend is on a lead. All up, a brilliant spot for walking, wildlife, history and a bit of a fitness challenge. Highly recommend.
