Great place

Great park close to the city to celebrate many different kind of events and push locals and internationals artists. When is quiet it's beautiful to go with the family and your pets. Close to the train station or bus stops, supermarkets and the main road in Fremantle. You have some of the best views around, facilities on the sides, magnificent spot.

Beautiful open space, with interesting views of Fremantle. Very popular with dogs and their people.

With the threat of another lockdown we were fortunate to celebrate on Saturday in August 2021 my 60th birthday party at The Fremantle Park Sport & Community Centre which combined the Fremantle Tennis, Bowling & Workers’ Club. The venue was significant as I lived opposite for many years and had ;pts of parties. It is such a great venue for gatherings on a budget which allowed greater numbers to attend in comfort to sustain reality-based relationships that keep and build a community. The event successfully gathered 180 people from my past 60 years to celebrate a diverse life and travels where we could share our memories, make new and renew old friendships with live cultural entertainment drawn from eclectic group of friends. Like many other Fremantlites we are transient beings, but Fremantle is my home, so it is great to have such an asset in this the COVIDIAN epoch for reality based socialising. The venue managers were rightly concerned over possible complaints when noise limits passed for a short time at 9:00 pm as the Taiko drummers rocked the building evoking memories of concerts in the park but that is the reason the reason, we choose to live so close to Fremantle, near the action and excitement of a vibrant port city with entertainment at your doorstep. No was in the past the noise and smell of restaurants, breweries, a working port, fishing boat harbour with the distant tannery and tallow works that provide the employment that make life meaningful as we age. We choose to live as close or as far away from the action and those that find it difficult living near a venue may want to reconsider their choices and location if they cannot stand the heat of the kitchen. Aad to see the old Bowling Club was demolished, but the replacement is functionally accessible, beautiful with various spacious rooms, outdoor areas offering great views over the greens and beyond accessible to all, so well managed by Arron Judge, and his team Joie and Terri O’Grady. My guests were so full of praise for their fine service food and interaction with guests. I can not thank them highly enough for looking after everyone even that one person that had too much of a good time felt the need to apologise personally. As the current debate of the old traffic bridge goes on, I feel that there are some things that need to be replaced to meet the changing needs of the wider Fremantle public as we do, and my praise goes to those that can made the hard decisions for the greater good for now and in the future with the new centre. Thank you again, Arron and your staff, and thank you for such a wonderful night and venue, I hope your neighbours will be more understanding and apologise for any inconvenience brought about by a genuine cultural performance.
