Revised checkout design is a disaster, always congested and you can see people walking out with stuff. Alarms going off and staff on another planet. Store is constantly a mess with stock not organised. Their online stock counts are inaccurate which causes them to cancel orders and no have items when you arrive instore to shop. There are cages and trolleys of stock everywhere blocking isles and change rooms and making a shopping experience with a pram very unpleasent. I have had multiple poor experiences with the staff here. They will have customers infront of them (at times lines of customers) and move at a glacial pace, will not make eye contact and do something that can wait, demonstrating no task priortisation or customer focus and worse carry on having conversations with one another with no acknowledgement. I have returned faulty goods only to find them back on the shelf for sale, have given constructive feedback to managers only to be told "no probalmo" and them be completely uninterested. Recieved soiled and damaged items in a click to collect. Products- especially baby, ladies and underwear quality extremely poor. My last visit I returned a faulty maternity bra, upon trying it on the straps slipped immediately and it was not unwearable. The customer service representative acted like I was returning it as a change of mind and said I was lucky she was taking it because it could not be resold with the tag removed and that depending on the staff member serving some of their team members refuse return of bras because they are an underwear item. This is a clear display of their inconsistent service and also that their staff are not trained and aware of their policies.

Big W what have you done to yourself ? They have switched to automated tellers. The gate is electronic so they don’t want you to enter if not buying anything. No more is there a greeter at the front of store. They don’t employ a security person at the front anymore which seems counter productive. Staff don’t wear a uniform so I can’t see who is staff. I can’t find staff even when I identify them. Restocking is constant and done during opening hours I assume to save money? The three stars is for value for money and sufficient variety of products from confectionary to cleaning products, a really good range of toys, clothing for all occasions. Long term staff are lovely. I don’t like the new layout.

Big W is great for getting a good price on general items. The store is well set out and it’s easy to find each department. It’s a large store so sometimes hard to find a staff member if you need help. But the scanners placed around the store are super convenient to check prices on things. There was both self checkout and a couple of staffed checkouts available so overall it was a good experience.
